4:00 PM update - All right good people, I am signing off. This update page had over 17,000 views today. Thanks for hanging out with me. 5,290 permits sold and we still have a little of 2,000 permits available. Realizing that I have been mostly talking to parents, I hope that your commuters are happy with the work that you have done today. I am proud of you. Good night.
2:50 PM update - G5 is sold out. Currently available zones: G6, M1, M2, M3, and Parking Garage North.

The way folks treated my staff last week during the Residential, Graduate, and Greek Day was ridiculous. If having to wait a little bit on your parking permit or not getting exactly what you wanted is the thing that triggers you to cuss out a nice grown professional that is only doing their job, I hope you find a better method when something more serious hits you. As always we are here to help however we can.

10:56 AM update - If you get to the purchasing page and receive an error, the zone sold our during your completion process. Please select the next zone of your choice and move ahead. Adding yourself to the waiting list you were unable to purchase.
10:52 AM update - For those of you who have scrolled past the Annual permit section and selected a Semester permit, but now realize that you want an Annual permit, you will need to add yourself to the waiting list of your choice, given that zones are selling out, we are not moving people from semester permits into annual permits at this time.

10:00 AM update - Price is Right is starting. Too bad is isn't Bob Barker. When I was y'alls age I always wondered why people were excited about a washing machine and a new refrigerator, now in my 40's, I would much prefer those than a Mustang with California emissions. 3,673 permits sold. Everything is going really well.
9:57 AM update - While today is just for commuters, we have sold 13,240 permits since we started selling permits for this next academic year. Fantastic work by my team to make this a reality for so many on campus.

9:31 AM update - Transportation Director Jack Elliott was online and in the queue at 8:00 AM and 3,344 in the queue and he was allowed into the purchasing portal at 9:28 AM. Working well for our Administration, glad it is doing the same for you.
9:30 AM update - 2,752 permits sold.
9:28 AM update - Remember to add yourself to the waiting list if your zone is sold out. Also prioritize them because if we are able to offer you your 3rd priority, you will remain on your 1st and 2nd priority until we can move you into those areas.
9:20 AM update - 2,394 permits sold. Y'all are doing great. Hopefully y'all will be this effective in going to class, getting involved, ringing your cowbell, doing community service, and leaving everyone and every place that you impact better than you found it.

9:00 AM update - 1,713 permits sold in one hour. Hopefully there is something good on the Today Show. We hope to have you out of the queue by the time the Price is Right comes on.
8:59 AM update - F3 is sold out.
8:50 AM update - Our three lovely Senior Customer Service Specialist went to the Usher concert in Birmingham last night. Still made it on time to work this morning with their nice smiling faces. Unlike Usher's song "Nice and Slow", we are selling hard and fast. 1,398 permits sold.
8:40 AM update - Going well. All the below zones are still available, still thousands in the queue. Each person in the queue isn't a single permit, we have learned that students will have multiple people and devices online at the same time looking for one permit, so often times when one permit is sold, it removed several devices from the queue. 1,102 permits sold in 40 minutes.
8:30 AM update - Rolling along as planned, still thousands in the queue, have sold 735 in 30 minutes which is our norm of about 1,400 per hour.
8:25 AM update - While you are in the queue and are also trying to update your vehicle in your parking portal, if you get a notice that your license plate already exists, it means that the State has reused a license plate number, and we need to correct that on our side. STAY IN THE QUEUE, but email customerservice@transportation.msstate.edu and they will update the license plate information. BUT STAY IN THE QUEUE. This is why it is important to check your vehicle information, before going into the queue. Think about it this way. You check instagram, check your vehicle info. You take a selfie, check your vehicle info.
8:20 AM update - Things are going great. 430 permits sold in 20 minutes. All of the zones mentioned below are still available.
8:10 AM update - Keep it up. 164 permits in 10 minutes, thousands of people in the queue. Everything is working great. My coffee is pretty good. Hope yours is as well. And I had a chicken mini, it was awesome.
7:30 AM update - Good morning beautiful commuters, parents, neighbors, co-workers, friends, spouses, camp counselors, and whoever else might be online trying to get a permit. We have heard them all through the years. 30 minutes until go time. We have have a lot of permits available today, so please be patient, trust the process, stay in the queue, have your information ready to enter, and get ready for a great academic year.
One important new permit this year is our Fall Semester permit. If you plan to be here for the enter year, you need to get the annual permit which is at the top of the page. Only get the fall permit if you plan to graduate in December or Co-op, study abroad, etc. in the spring.

Tuesday July 28th Updates:
6:10 PM update - Last update, but it should be expected to have several thousand people in the queue and waiting times first thing in the morning to exceed 90 minutes. Be patient, the system works and it is designed to handled volumes much higher than we will experience tomorrow. All updates will be posted here throughout the day. Good luck and I look forward to being online with you tomorrow.
4:30 PM update - If your preferred zone is sold out, please remember to add yourself to the waiting list. You can add yourself to several waiting list and rank them in order of your preference. Our waiting list work, last fall we moved over 8,100 students from our waiting list into various lots on campus.
4:25 PM update - Zones are first come first serve and we do expect most zones to sell out tomorrow during the day. As zones sell out, they will be removed from the purchasing portal, so if you don't see the zone in your portal, the zone is sold out, please move to your next choice. Available zones: A2, C1, C4, D1, D2, D3, E2, E5, F2, F3, F5, G1, G2, G3, G4, G5, G6, H2, M1, M2, M3, Parking Garage North, and the Mize Garage.
2:25 PM update - We are excited to announce that we have over 2,500 more permits available for commuters to purchase this year than we did this time last year. Last year as we implemented the first phase of our master plan, we had to collect the data needed to maximize our lot occupancy, which has led to us increasing the number of permits available in most zones on campus.
2:21 PM update - As a reminder for everyone, the permit purchasing portal will open at 8:00 am. At that time, everyone on our website will be randomly placed into the queue, so no need to get online at 3:00 am, get some sleep or spend that time playing Magic the Gathering. Once in the queue, stay in the queue, even if something happens, your IP address is recorded in the queue and your spot will remain. Once you are allowed to enter the purchasing portal, you have 5 minutes to complete your purchase, so please have all of your vehicle information up to date.
